This is a space designed to accommodate the over-stimulated, neurodivergent, and under-represented 3rd culture individuals like me

Hi, Welcome to my alien brain —you’re all normal here!

My name is Amirah and I make music, but you’ll probably find me walking in nature.

This isn’t really a music site. But, if you want music, try the music blog category, or just check my socials.

This site is me. The full me. The weird me. The brokenhearted me. The hopeful me.

So, for the next few minutes, it’s just me and you. Thanks for being here with me.

THE BLOG

This is where I spill my heart — process what it means to be neurodivergent (Shout out to my #aspies); reveal my minimalist coping mechanisms; embrace my 3rd Culture kid perspective; celebrate the intersection of East meets West, share my career making music and designing clothing; and talk about my life’s work: the pursuit of unity

Glad you’re here - hope you find some inspiration in my vulnerability

— Amirah

  • Transformation, fusion, intersection, unity—and what it takes to achieve something beautiful. It’s never without sacrifice, but the future is waiting to be built and it belongs to those willing to find the magic in the middle.

  • I was originally just a songwriter—never intended to be an artist—and it’s almost unimaginable for an #aspie to tackle a career so fraught with difficult and even dangerous aspects of performance and exposure.

  • Throughout my life and travels, I’ve discovered people living in the middle of two worlds, combining cultures and preserving each for new generations, so I’ve begun documenting their work! I believe the future will be a modern twist on traditional elements.

  • Creativity was always an escape and a friend in a world that felt very overwhelming as I was growing up. Designing fashion pieces has given me a sense of control and a way of expressing both masculine and feminine energy in a practical, minimalist palette.

Vulnerability is both scary and liberating — My blog is me, unfiltered

When I’m not working on new music, I design minimalist clothing heavily influenced by my dual heritage and the infinite possibilities of fusing Eastern and Western fashion.

Because I’m hyper-sensitive and prone to sensory overload, selecting soft, wrinkle-free fabric in black, white, & neutral colors, allows me to combine my love of traditional patterning and design motifs in a minimalist aesthetic… with pockets. Lots of pockets.
